7 Days / 6 Nights – Essaouira to Sahara Desert and Back

Day 1: Essaouira – Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
Depart in the morning from Essaouira towards Marrakech, then continue across the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m). Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a famous backdrop for many films.
Overnight in Ouarzazate – the gateway to the Sahara.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge
Visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios, then drive through the Skoura palm oasis and Valley of Roses. Continue to the spectacular Dades Valley, famous for its winding roads and dramatic rock formations.
Overnight in a charming hotel in Dades Gorge.

Day 3: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
Enjoy a short walk through Todra Gorge, a favorite for rock climbers. Continue via Tinghir and Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, before arriving in Merzouga. Experience a camel trek over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, watch the sunset, and enjoy a night under the stars in a luxury desert camp.
Dinner and overnight in the desert.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert Exploration (Nomads – Khamlia – Oasis)
Spend the day exploring the Sahara by 4×4. Visit Khamlia village for live Gnawa music, meet Berber nomad families, and discover hidden oases and sand dunes. Optional quad biking or sandboarding available.
Second night in the desert (camp or hotel).

Day 5: Merzouga – Alnif – Tazarine – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Wake early for an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village. Travel through the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest and most scenic valley, dotted with palm groves and ancient kasbahs.
Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Telouet Kasbah – Marrakech
Visit the Telouet Kasbah, once the residence of the powerful Glaoui family. Cross the High Atlas Mountains again to reach Marrakech in the evening.
Overnight in a traditional riad.

Day 7: Marrakech – Essaouira
After breakfast, drive back to Essaouira (approx. 2.5–3 hours). Stop at argan oil cooperatives along the way.
Arrival in Essaouira – end of tour.
